In the same way the cold war was about building up defense spending, but ultimately deciding not to fire off any nukes, the male and female genders are at a sexual cold war, where individuals (especially urban ones) are constantly mobilizing in relatively isolated bubbles, to build a higher SMV, while actually withdrawing from actual sexual engagement in order to expand the domain of their empire. Sure there's tensions and mild proxy wars, but it's nothing real. It's as though most single adults are spending most of their time and effort into getting better looking, and shifting their lifestyles to be more sexually lucrative in their choice of luxury spending habits. Doing so in a way that draws people in naturally, as opposed to being the "initiator" of relationships.
Society-- younger men specifically, have truly shifted psychologically to not feel entitled to relationships. Younger generations don't expect much so long as they have porn and vidya. This is unprecedented in the entire history of humans fucking each other. I don't know what the consequences of this entails, but intuitively, it feels like we are heading into a world where adults are increasingly patronized by totalitarian forces that "know better." It definitely feels like we like in an era where dissent is both eradicated, and is something fewer and fewer people are brave enough to toy with anymore.
All I can say is it feels like there is no end to this mobilization. There's a definite WANT from men to start fucking, but there's nothing men can do about it without some form or sexual coersion-- mostly likely in the form of taking female rights away, or at least making the economic system more difficult for women in general.
A lot of this mobilization, much like in military defense, is a non-aggression strategy based primarily on not expecting "encounters," but being ready for mutually assured destruction it when it falls into one's lap. This means that in the modern psyche, the average person no longer manifests victory. It's this Buddhist sort of wandering the earth meandering around sort of deal. The game we all anticipate our whole lives to play never can even start without an aggressor. The irony is that by virtue of being wallflowers, we are ultimately at peace, and the population will decline which is the antinatalist dream.
