watching old animes makes me feel sad, so i just watch newer animes (2020+)

i feel like i don't want to relive in it

if an anime came out in like 2008 or 2012, i dont want to watch it

and it also makes me feel like i'm older as well

maybe a mixture of depression, autism and the age pill

I think that's at least partly nostalgia. You might've also watched more anime back then, like me.

This is partly true. Still i have not found things that were better than Hajime no ippo, Code Geass, Kaiji, etc. Those animes were incredible and while there are still works that are good, they don't incite the same feelings as those.

The last anime that had me amazed was Devilman Crybaby, which is quite old now 2019

while of a different nature than the gems you mentioned, 5-toubun no Hanayome ∬ had some really powerful moments IMO. But on the whole I agree that anime feels like it's gone downhill a bit.
