(partially due to the vietnam war where excess males died) but since our wars have less casualties we have a surplus of males 18-30. Depending on sample size and yearly random variance there could be some variation from this. In Nordic countries sex balance is reached only at age 60 or a couple years before that, while in the USA the situation is better (around age 40). Immigration does not mess with sex ratio in the USA like it does in small population European countries with lots of inward migration compared to the population size.
