Want to know why a lot of older female characters were good?

Because they were written by men and had male personalitys. Men wrote them to be capable and brave but also kind. They could be any type of personality and usually be enjoyable. If a female character is written by a women they're usually like "I'm a woman who don't need no man, ew get away from me genuinely decent guy, ooo a bad boy".

Yep. There's a reason why I can make a list of female characters from TV shows, movies, books, video games, etc. that I can actually identify with. The characters were written by men, and therefore they actually behave logically. But women in real life like that? None.
