As a kid my playtime was always unrestricted. I would dump years and years into competitive multiplayer because I always wanted to be at the top. When I reached the top I would move on to the next game. My grades were in the gutter so my university options were limited. I then wasted 5 of my prime adult years in a uni and I hated every minute of it. If I hadn't gone to uni I would have been a poker pro. I was already winning thousands in small stakes tournaments without watching any coaching material. With my autistic hyperfocus and dedication I would definitely make it pay big.

Then I would have bought bitcoin with my winnings. It was around $500 at the time. I would have been a multimillionaire if it weren't for vidya. Even if the poker thing didn't work out, I would've self studied for 1-2 years to get a career in IT, much better than a useless degree. Then I would've bought bitcoin with my savings from the job.

Now it's too late for everything. Even if I had a marketable skill, nobody wants a mid 30s sub5 neet at an entry level position. And my hair looks like Heihachi now so there's no hope of finding a woman either.

I would be in the same spot unless I was a gigachad landing a modeling gig. If I were a 7 I might've had a gf but I'd still be introverted, bored with school and play vidya.

Noone else was addicted to vidya as a kid? smh

i am in a similar boat with regards to early life but i am still in uni.

Bro this is why good parenting and choosing the kids career from a young age is required.

My subhuman genetics ruined my life. Vidya is just a way to cope

Mogs me. I've never been good at anything my entire life no matter how much time I dumped into it.

Great post :feelskek:

I r8 8/8

Is it too late for you to make it in poker?

It would seem that’s a skill that wouldn’t go away.

I barely even play video games, but I keep buying consoles and expensive PC components. I play maybe a couple of hours a month on average.
I used to play a lot more when I was younger, but I've always enjoyed browsing /v/ and watching vidya-related content more than actually playing games.

I didn't play in over a decade, and the average player is much better now because of hundreds of online tutorials everywhere and software telling you what to do. There's even more bots than back then. The golden era of easy money from poker is over. I don't even have the same passion I had when I was young, it would be miserable now.

It saved Mine from the mediocrity of the world.

I'm not completely anti-vidya, it's a fun cope for sure. But letting a teen kid play 24/7 is not good. It's like having parents that will buy you fresh pizza every day of the year if you wanted to. Kids need more guidance than that.

Even I made some easy money in poker like 20 years ago. It was time consuming and annoying

Those days are long gone now

It's not like there's much else worth doing

Annoying for sure, it was half the reason I quit. My strongest format by far was MTTs, but that's also the most tilting format with the craziest variance. The difference between losing $5k or winning $10k in a month can be one pre-flop all in on the final table where you're a 4-1 fav with AA vs KK and lose. I'd shove my fist through the monitor if that happened.
