I’ll never understand why gaming is the only medium of entertainment that has this level of scrutiny applied to it. You’ll never see anyone making these arguments about watching movies or TV shows even though it has the exact same utility and outcomes in practice. gaming is a unique hobby in the way that it’s held to unreasonable standards and all nuance flies out the window when it’s brung up in a conversation like this and it tends to be personal biased anecdotes on why they do or don’t personally like it

Depends on the video game, if it were something where you can play it in one go or for nostalgia like RPG or story based games then I feel it's still acceptable.

I got bored of games almost completely at 25. Played a little more to around 28, but only very occasionally. And now at 30 I think games are just gay as fuck and a complete waste of time.
