No shit, it's only useful in old games with FPS cap. I've been using it a lot on PSX/PS2 emulated games. It's also cool in GRID 2008 as 60fps is pretty much required as rewind is based around your framerate and the higher you have the shorter rewind time you will get. It's a mandatory addition for shitty 30fps capped games like Okami or Metal Wolf Chaos XD.

Frame Gen is awesome technology but only if you can already run a playable framerate. So, it's usefulness is limited. Like starry says, it's gold for old emulated games.

I don't care enough to play most of them. New gpus cost so much that i'm not even considering buying a brand new gpu only used. Overall modern gayming is not for me anymore. Only maybe 1-4 games a year could interest me while rest is total trash. Old games are just much better than new ones. And old ones can be played at 4k and not hurt my eyes with awful TAA and frame gen.

I barely touch modern PC games at this point. I just play modded Skyrim and Fallout 4 all day, and play yuzu/emulator games when I get bored.

Pointless as you would have much higher base fps (90 in most cases), and if you can only reach 60 fps with 90-99% gpu usage then your framerate will drop below 30fps with frame gen and result in massive input lag. Only for fully FPS locked games it could be useful.
And those locked games are usually the older ones or in emulators, which DLSS/FSR/XESS FG don't support natively. There's Lossless Scaling FG and AFMF but those have worse artifacts and need more tweaking to work properly.

I know that's why i was talking about emulation and Okami or Metal Wolf Chaos XD. I beat entirety of Parasite Eve 1 using frame gen to avoid that awful 30fps and it was previous version of LS full of artifacts now it behaves much better even at 30fps.
In most games its unusable but in gow ragnarok it went from unplayable to playable at 1440p native, 1080ti.
I never thought it was anything besides fake garbage.

Maybe if you would read a single book you could get some IQ boost above 65.
but it cost like 5 dollars and improving but the only problem is that it needs to be windowed mode i want to play orginal diablo 2 at 1080p
