yeah it probably has too much input lag and eye strain for gaming. But I could see it being good for programming ignoring fast paced videos

Depends on the TV though. I was using a Samsung TV for PC recently and it had a 'game mode' that reduced the input lag. It was so crisp and the colors were well-calibrated out of the box. For videos and casual gaming it's perfect, but for competitive gaming the 60Hz is just too slow.
