Once it probably gets to the point where Russia reaches its minimum winning conditions then both Russia and the West have some hard decisions. The West will want to bring the remaining Ukraine into NATO and the EU before going big on the rebuilding. But I can see a lot of deal making like not placing Western troops in Ukraine and not sending in certain types of weaponry. So Russia doesn't have to worry as much about Ukraine being used as a launching pad for Western attacks down the road.
With Finland in NATO the West agreed not to send in Western troops to be stationed there.
One thought in Russia is getting Chinese troops on the border as peacekeepers between the West and Russia. So then if the West got crazed and launched attacks into Russia, it would go through Chinese troops, and then China could easily come in on Russia's side. China would probably come in anyway, but this would make it easier.
