In the UK, things are mostly different (though more and more looks obsessed stuff in being made now). You have Alexis Carrington and CJ Parker, we have Nora Batty and Dot Cotton. Cheerleaders, proms, beauty pageants etc - stuff is definitely more looks fixated in the US, and you are the exception rather than the rule if you haven't had some kind of cosmetic surgery.
