Food delivery services overcharge you for service fee, delivery fee, commission fee, processing fee, marketing fee and whatever other fees they can pull out of their ass alongside sales tax and tips. And often the length of time it takes for the order to reach your doorstep and the quality of service you recieve is dependent on how much you have tipped because their base fare is only $3/hr without trip supplement, promotions and the generosity of tips

Then they have to worry about car maintenance, gasoline ($6 on gas for every 25 miles driven and percentage cuts of returns (typically 20%), dropoff and pickup fee per order and they get no health insurance. It is not a sustainable business model.

At that point, you are better off making your own food at home. I’ve had several poor experiences with FD even after tipping appropriately, ordering at convenient times like the afternoon or evening, and leaving proper notes on the order.

I have noticed in general food delivery, has fucked up sauce placement, stuff going missing etc. This with notes and tipping setup
