How can you sell your life to STEM only to find out that the only beneficial output of trying to waveslave STEM is being IQ gatekeeped super hard? I don't even know how was I was able to make it to University doing a CS degree that's well out of my league, I can't keep up with the other Giga high IQ coders who've been doing this their whole lives, in-addition, to the fact that I have no friends, girlfriend and am mentally crippled. I wasn't made for this shit man

Who the Hell told you do STEM if you know you are mentally crippled?!

What year of uni are you in?

Good luck finding a job too. Competition is high now and employers want you to know their whole tech stack straight out of college

I'm also doing my CS engineering and I'm shit scared this would be my future. Why does the universe fuck us in every possible way

3rd, final year. Either I get a 2:1 or it's gonna be a trip to the underworld
A fellow ukcel

You are lucky to attend uni

What grades did you get at A level?

Yeah I wish I chose accounting, kek. Even though there’s less jobs, there’s too much gatekeeping in CS. Have to have projects, have to know leetcode, have to have “passion”, otherwise you can’t make their shitty crud apps apparently.

Well, just do your best on the course. If you can't handle coding there is always the option of doing IT certs later on.

It's a fucking pisstake.

Realistically, you would try a racetam like Oxiracetam and simply grind on Codechef and SPOJ first.

Well, there are plenty of "competitive" programming problems that require the use of number-theory concepts. Have you considered visiting a website such as "Project Euler" to gain a greater overview of their uses?

Are you curry? And how tall r u?

"You seem to be pretty skilled in Lua, so I decided to ask for your opinion." Though I would have to regretfully inform you that I am a recent novice in comparison to an individual such as Chimmihc, I can attempt to answer your question. Subjectively-speaking, proficiency is not solely a matter of knowing every aspect of syntactical manipulation nor every characteristic of a given language. It is a matter of comprehending the universal programming concepts in such a way that you can construct an algorithm to handle the designated task using only the necessary components. Algorithm efficiency revision is best accomplished through the use of "Landau Notation." Logic is a crucial component. Therefore, it should be organized in a manner that ensures that you can revise your program if necessary while understanding the actual functionality. As for Artificial-Intelligence and other components of Computer-Science, I would suggest that you focus merely on using the knowledge for your own purposes of enjoyment. There are plenty of AI scripts developed by users who are considered "proficient." Yet, I can think of many of those "proficient" users who did not recognize simple ASCII terminology. Proficiency arises from necessity and desire. Not simple segments of arbitrary information.

Do you work?

No. Mother and I had problems, so I lived in a different state for some time. I've been in limbo since then.
