Trump Media announced on Thursday, July 16, that it plans to sell priority access to posts on the US president's network, Truth Social, his preferred means of communication. He publishes messages there that sometimes have significant consequences for the global economy or geopolitics.
The media company explained that this automated interface (Application Programming Interface, API) would provide "authorized, real-time access to posts from key Truth Social accounts." The service, launching on August 1st, primarily targets traders and financial media outlets , who rely on margins of just seconds to make their decisions.
"Markets are already moving based on the publications on Truth Social," said Kevin McGurn, interim general manager of Trump Media and Technology Group.
The US president created Truth Social after being banned from Twitter (now X), following the 2021 attack on the Capitol in Washington by some of his supporters rejecting his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. He has since used this platform to make his main political announcements.
Selling such priority access raises questions about the monetization of the presidency. In 2025, Donald Trump earned at least $1.2 billion (€1 billion) from his cryptocurrency activities , according to documents made public in June.
