I needed some character references for my army application and asked around with the people I volunteer with every week at the food pantry and none of them wanted me to list them yet I'm the one they text when they want someone to pass a message to the team lead (naive fat autist but really nice to everyone) instead of talking to him directly.
it feels like I'm a little mime being taken out of a box, put to work then stored back out of sight when I'm done being useful to them and the only thanks I get are procedural and out of courtesy like saying thank you when someone opens the door.
it's like I'm just a resource to be tapped into as far as normgroids are concerned.

Good thing I have absolutely nothing to provide :bigbrain:

Your a tool to them. Nothing you do is seen as valuable, because the truth is we are all disposable here. Or, maybe I'm overeating and you got simply got thanked by normies to do what is seen as fit. In other words, your kind actions are just the bare minimum.

Bruh, this is the classic "NPCs only value you for utility" scenario. You’re good enough to do their dirty work, but the moment you need something in return, they suddenly don’t know you. It’s like you’re a walking favor dispenser press a button, get a task done, and then back into the shadows you go.

Normies don’t see people like us as real individuals with needs or aspirations. They just see functionality like how they’d treat an office printer. Useful when needed, ignored when not. The worst part? They don’t even do it maliciously; it’s just how their NPC brains operate. If you’re not socially valuable in a way they recognize (status) you’re invisible

these two go quotes go hard

High school classmates would regularly ask me for homework answers but never invite me to anything. Funny how people consider me too inferior to like spending time with me but it didn't stop them from wanting my help.
