Tried to approach girls and they literally ran away

So last night I was a little drunk outside alone and needed a cig but I didnt have any money so I figured Id just ask random people for one. I then saw a group of 3 young women about my age on the street and as I was feeling a little more confident than usual due to being drunk (keep in mind I wasnt very drunk at all so I wasnt acting strange or anything), I decided to approach them. As I got near them they stopped talking and when I stopped and said "hey" they gave me a clearly disgusted look and immediately turned around and started speedwalking away, then even jogging. I yelled that I just wanted a cigarette and its okay if they dont have any but they completely ignored me and ran away.
Well, at least they didnt call the cops on me I guess haha still brutal tho.
