regarding inaccuracies, yeah, the country obviously is meant to be Iran though the movie never said about it.

Only Iran has F-14 tomcats other than the US. only Iran has an active nuclear program that's been trying to create nukes.

The 5th gen fighters in this movie obviously are reference to Russians, but could also be reference to China though much more unlikely. As Russia is next to Iran, makes more sense to have airbase there.

And flares do not do shit against those SAMs. those r radar guided, not infra-red. it wont do anything yet the movie portrays it as some kind of magical counter-measure.

and a pilot is too valuable to just get shred to piece by a attack helicopter. they'd try to capture him, not to kill him.
