Based on @Mainländer's suggestion here:

https://incels.is/threads/what-are-your-top-10-films-of-all-time.82263/#post-1558790

We've had a thread like this dedicated to albums, but I don't believe we've had one for bands themselves. Ten only, to keep it interesting - no additions. Inclusive of solo artists for the sake of simplicity.

Today Is the Day
Hammerhead
Scott Walker
Immolation
Deathspell Omega
Ulcerate
Caspar Brötzmann Massaker
Unsane
Vágtázó Halottkémek
Pere Ubu

A few of my favorite albums were made by bands whose discographies aren't large or consistent enough to reasonably be a 'favorite band'. A lot only made one album (Bastards - Monticello, Mana Mana - Totuus Palaa).

I'm gonna get destroyed by /mu/tants but oh well. Gotta be honest never heard a single one of those bands.

Nirvana
The Strokes
Interpol
The Killers
Bloc Party
Queen
Alexisonfire
Fall Out Boy
The Beatles
Neutral Milk Hotel

Yes and Iron Maiden and King Krimson and Pink Floyd i'd say, i distance the band from the music and i haven't listened to enough bands anyway, so i have no idea what the criteria for "favorite band" is, those are the prominent bands whose music i heard the most.

My music taste is quite normie tbh so forgive me.

Led Zeppelin
The Beatles
Judas Priest
Oasis
Muse
Pink Floyd
The Doors
Gorillaz
Nine Inch Nails
Radiohead

Honorable mention: Deep Purple

Sex pistols
Milencolin
Dead Kennedys
NoFX
Ramones
RATM
Pennywise
The Misfits
Suicidal Tendencies
Metallica
Iron Maiden
AC/DC
Motorhead
System of a Down
Rise Against

Thank you for taking my suggestion. Much of the stuff I like to hear aren't exactly bands but obscure Japanese doujin music, etc, so since I'll exclude those from this list, forgive me if my selection looks pretty normie-like (I don't wanna get /mu/gged to oblivion either, @Godzuki , kek).

I'd also like to mention that I currently have limited internet and that's the reason why I'm not watching Youtube videos, so that people don't get disappointed by me not watching/hearing suggestions and comments including music, etc, right now.

Well here it goes:

Nirvana
Foo Fighters
Silverchair
Queens of the Stone Age
The Muffs
Los Hermanos
Stone Temple Pilots
Blur
The Strokes
System of a Down

Sex pistols
Milencolin
Dead Kennedys
NoFX
Ramones
RATM
Pennywise
The Misfits
Suicidal Tendencies
Metallica
Iron Maiden
AC/DC
Motorhead
System of a Down
Rise Against

You don't have to lie! I had a punk friend that always insulted the bands I liked. You cringed when you saw Fall Out Boy probably!

Lots of people mentioning The Doors, Pink Floyd, and SOAD. Never spent much time with any of them, but it might be time to fix that it looks like.
