I wasn't talking about him particularly. Certain threads really do seem like obvious larps tho, one of the most viewed threads on this forum is a suicide thread by a user who ended up making an alt a few days later and got caught.

not referring to any particular person here but in my experience when you're genuinely planning to commit suicide you feel no "attachment" to yourself. you genuinely believe that your life is a dead end and that expressing your feelings is worthless. when you do express your emotions it comes out as some sporadic venting of pent up frustration, and not an organized forum post like "I'm going to kill myself on *this date*"

it's not at all uncommon for a suicidal person to seem very emotionally distressed or unstable, but it is sort of unusual for them to make a shit ton of posts on the internet expressing their intention to do so beforehand, especially with an exact time and date. usually you'd need to still have some attachment to your reputation and social standing & what not for that, and if you're genuinely planning to end your life that's one of the last things on your mind

(I hope I explained that well enough, it's sort of hard for me to describe)

I actually agree, I'm suicidal as hell right now and I'll make a suicide post because I'm hoping to not go through with it, doesn't mean the poster isn't suicidal though. If I was dead set on going through with it, I'll just do it.

I attempted suicide once almost a year ago. I failed obv. the shit I was hanging myself from broke as I was about to pass out, I never even thought about announcing it, my mind was just not there, I wasn't thinking about what anyone else would think or how they would find me, It wasn't planned I just wanted to die after crying a lot.
