Tinder: hunting ground for rapists and scammers

Read a news article (it's in my local language) that Tinder is often used by rapists and scammers, and obviously the majority of victims are female or nobody would care about this. Recently a guy had to appear in court and has been jailed for terrorising 11 women after Tinder dates.

I'm just wondering, how are women baited by these rapists and scammers since a good personality is the most important trait for dating? Maybe personality doesn't matter at all and women mostly care about looks?

Oh yeah this is the guy that terrorised the women, I wonder why their personality scanner didn't detect his toxic personality?
