There's something called quantum entanglement and if the brain is some sort of quantum super computer, it would make sense that the souls of all the random john's become entangled with the soul of the prostitute. I don't think there's anything wrong with having your consciousness entangled with someone else. In fact it probably happens all of the time but the thing is you don't want to have your consciousness entangled with criminals.
