I watched Amelie when I was in my (500) Days of Summer phase and still didn't get it.

It's a cute quirky "autistic" girl who endlessly virtue signals and nothing really happens.

But, I can see how guys fall for a character like Amelie. Like Fitgirl who still LARPs as her 25 years later.
