Discussion Thoughts on taking antidepressants?

I've wanted to take antidepressants for a long time because it will help my mood and decrease my libido. I feel depressed often and I think antidepressants colud help with that. It's literally in the name anti depressant. This means that I won't feel so bad on certain days. I don't really care about having a high libido since all it does is bothers me and gives me pain. Antidepressants could help with that because I'll be thinking about sex less often, and it'll be harder to become aroused. Antidepressants colud make inceldom less painful by lowering libido and helping with depression. Unfotunately, I have to ask a doctor for some, and I haven't done that.

I'd say be careful with the dosage and which specific drugs you're taking. I took a bunch of different kinds (the later ones may have been a part of my motivation for posting horrible shit online a few years back non-anonomously that now follows me to this day) and I always wanted them to max everything out and give me as much as possible. At least one of the medications I suspect had some sort of "just do something"-effect which combined with a negative mindset could make you more likely want to do dumb/bad shit, I suppose. I also quit at least one of the meds cold-turkey (don't do that), have a tough time remembering details about that. I may also have PSSD on top of the PIED.

Sounds like money that could be spend on good food, whores, or my hobbies. Watched my brother take them before and honestly I'm convinced they really don't know what they're doing when it's come to mental health considering he became more angry because of them. Your depression is a symptom of your circumstances. I don't recommend trying to medicate that away probably because it will just cause you harm in the long run.

As for solutions there really aren't many. Masturbation has a limit on how much joy it can bring you, depending on yourself an escort might make you feel better or worse, and I'm assuming you've already tried asking out women but had no success.

Not too great, thank you. I have to help clean the house and my mom is forcing me to eat out this evening, as my parents are eating there with friends. I'm 29 but autistic, she says this is the only form of social interaction I get, but that is not true, I do interact with people at work! I don't like how people look at me because I look strange.

It's grey and raining though, I like this kind of weather.

A side effect of them is insomnia, they make sleep worse for me and cause vivid dreams.

I am using Lexapro at the moment. The problem is how they cause intense hunger and I am almost 250lbs so I can't afford to have increased hunger. I will keep taking them for a few months to see if I can manage to control over eating on them.
