I am not someone who gets mad, but this makes me feel the "Rage"
TL;DR: A WNBA player thinks they should be paid the same as NBA players are, and says there is NO REASON that they aren't.
Let me tell you some reasons that society doesn't want me to say:
1. The WNBA does not make even close to enough money to pay their players as much as the NBA does.
2. The WNBA is not marketed well. I have no reason to care about the WNBA. I am a HUGE basketball fan both NBA and College, and I do not know the first thing about the WNBA. That's a problem... They should at least be trying to market to me right?? I'm somewhat willing to give it a chance if I had a reason to care. I love sports, especially basketball, and I wouldn't turn down an opportunity to watch them play.
3. Not even women want to watch the WNBA. It's not a secret that NO ONE watches Women's basketball, but even still, men watch it more than women. If your own kind (women) are not even going to support you and turn on the television to watch you, how can you expect anyone else to? If women don't like a product made by other women, there's probably something wrong with what you're doing.
LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, THE TRUE REASON THAT NO ONE WILL ADMIT BUT IS THE REASON THE PRO BASKETBALL PAY GAP EXISTS:
4. WOMEN SUCK AT SPORTS... especially basketball. Women's basketball is BORING. I love basketball, and there is NO excitement. Women do not make athletic plays, and they are even less skilled than men. They miss more layups and their jump shots go in less often. They even have worse dribbling than men do. The best women's athletes get dominated by Division II College Male athletes.
AT MY COLLEGE, OUR DIVISION 1 NCAA POWER 5 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM (which has won a National Championship before) GOT BULLIED BY A RANDOM TEAM OF MALE STUDENTS NOT ON THE BASKETBALL TEAM IN A SCRIMMAGE LAST YEAR. I WATCHED IT LIVE. IT WAS HILARIOUS. THESE WERE SCHOLARSHIP FEMALE ATHLETES WHO GOT BEATEN BY RANDOM GUYS WHO PAY TO GO TO SCHOOL THERE.
Women if you want to get paid equal to men in basketball, then get as good as they are at the sport and I will start watching. This is NOT me hating women, this is me only being interested in entertaining athletics, and when women put on a show equal to or greater than or at least close to what men do, I'll start watching.
