It’s the same reason why certain high IQ people deny the blackpill.

1. It’s about COPE.

This is where emotional intelligence comes into play. Some people cling onto certain ideas and ideologies because it helps them deal with heavy emotional burdens. It helps them get by in life, maintain hope in humanity, not mentally fold to trauma. You have to understand, when people are going to emotionally difficult situations, they have to twist and fit things in order for their bodies to grieve through the pain.

2. It’s about genetics.

You guys have to realize, humans have evolved to have a dual mating strategy. Alphafuxx betabuxx; Madonna whore. For instance, certain guys’ belief systems will always align more towards the extreme end of either alphafuxx or betabuxx no matter what. If you’re a blackpill proselytizer and ever tried to blackpill certain thuggish type of dudes or extreme soysimp cucks, you’ll know what I mean. It’s like all the information incredibly goes in through one ear and out the other, or they’re just completely defensive and in denial about it. I believe nature has made it so that certain people can never be inclined to hate the opposite gender, even if it takes denying the truth, so that the human species can be guaranteed its legacy. Religion often times leans towards the betabuxx side of our sexual proclivities. Betabuxxing gene is why we believe in bluepilled things like happily ever after soulmates and what not

Interesting, perhaps it's not the case for all, but still interesting nevertheless.

Religions, especially Abrahamic ones, are not bluepilled.

Rituals are based on the condition of original sin, that all humans are inherently sinful and therefore need to repent for salvation, which is misanthropic as opposed to being humanist. Humanism is a tenet and progenitor of liberalism.

Hobbes's Leviathan, originally a thesis for absolutism, addresses this issue in a secular manner. Without social contracts in the form of religious laws and tribal codes, or a paternalistic figure in the form of mullahs, society will regress to its natural state and anarchy, which we are witnessing today in the Western world. One of its symptoms is none other than hypergamy and inceldom, which is essentially laissez-faire and market failure.

Religious fatalism is also congruent with blackpill genetic determinism.

I wonder for the high IQ religious people, how much of it is genuine religious?

Like, do they actually believe that there is a god, or do they just use religion as a failsafe (pastel wager) in case god does actually exist.

I don't know about y'all, but I think the truly smart people realize modern religion is just twisting old religious text (usually targeted to a very niche group) to fit a modern context, or changing definitions (something high IQ lawyers are very good at)

"allah prophet said dates can cure diseases!!!"

"nooo what he said was indirectly he meant eating healthy can prevent and cure some diseases!!"

"What do you mean dates aren't available outside of middle east?"

"nooo actually Allah meant dates as in a metaphor way!!!! ackusally McDonald's salad serve as a stand in for dates!!?"

high iq doesn't save you from false beliefs; many are sincerely religious.

this is evidenced by how people with high iqs have had opposite opinions since time immemorial

Most high-IQ people I've met in life are the most dogmatic and incongruent. Humans thrive off of cognitive dissonance; it's our lifeblood. There's nothing rational about us, and we most certainly don't operate on reason. Rather, we operate based on instincts, desire, and impulse. Any rational person would conclude that life is inherently bad and that suicide is logical. Not committing suicide is irrational, so I'm irrational (not that I claimed to be rational). A reason-based society is an extinct one; without myth, compartmentalization, abstraction, and false justification, humans cannot operate.

You saying the universe spawned from nothing

The main reason is indoctrination at birth. Even if you don’t truly believe in God, you’ll still be religious because it’s a part of your core being.

you should actually learn what 'truth' means.

Tbh yeah. While modern atheism dealt with the Catholic menace, it just lacks regard for humanity and morals.

And did all primitive societies develop some kind of religion just because? And does the human body release DMT before dying so you can see your loved ones, who calm you down just because? And those concepts repeated in many of them, like ein sof, brahmin, Tao, Allah, Logos? And secret societies like the Freemasons, where you can't be an atheist if you want to join and where they practice a large number of rituals? Obviously, it's practically impossible for any mainstream religion to be the absolute truth, but there are many things, for the observer, that suggest that the spiritual doesn't have to be immediately discarded.

High iq people(scientists) tend to be more agnostics than full blown atheists

Its arguably impossible to be truly atheistic, we don't have the ability to 100% prove that no sort of deity exists but we are able to disprove every human-constructed religion and notice that the majority of evidence points to the lack of deity in any form which is why we call ourselves atheists. Every atheist is agnostic, not every agnostic is atheist,

Jesus Christ is Lord
