I unfortunately have no time to watch it right now, so I’ll just say, it’s always amusing to me when people always say that men are “choosing” to be poor, live with their parents, not be able to go out, eat out, go to vacations, and so on, rather than that simply being their lives and them being unable to change it. That male hyperagency belief is just so deep-rooted. Sure, people aren’t outright saying that random homeless dudes could fly first-class around the world if they wanted, but people’s first instinct is always to see the men as having been in control of their outcomes and to have chosen them and theoretically be able to change them with moderate effort at most.
Like, is it really that hard to just understand that this stuff is mostly due to those dudes not ever having had a choice and this just being their lives? “No reason to play a rigged game,” those commenters copy and paste to feel edgy, as if the guys talked about in those videos haven’t played it as much and haven’t tried maybe even harder than most, they just lost it. Somebody has to be at the bad tail of a statistical distribution, and the people on this forum know it better than most.
