It's Over Thinking of cutting my metalhead long hair

I've been growing my hair out since 2018 i think. And now it's gotten to a point where it's a little TOO long and it gets in really annoying knots and shit. And in the back part it's HEAVILY matted down and it's like a thick blanket or someshit.
I want to keep my hair but i can't stand the way it feels and also i bet i get weird looks not only for being an incel but having such long and unkempt hair.
Any ideas?

I feel bad for baldcels but honestly medium to short length hair is probably best for easy maintennance and taking care of.
Also for avoiding knots.
Being bald sucks if you're not chad but honestly atleast you don't have to worry about your hair being a mess or having knots.
