One thing that I despise in video games is escort missions. Usually the NPC that you are escorting has a horrible A.I, walks in the direction of the enemy, stands in your front when you're going to attack or shoot, sometimes he can even push you. The only game that I know that make escort missions right was Resident Evil 4. Ashley (The NPC you escort), only walks when you walk, you can command her to stay, follow you and hide, she only walks behind you, and she ducks if you start to aim your gun to shoot. It's actually amazes me that some moderns games don't have this mechanics.

I also hate unskippable cutscene, I like to watch a cutscene in the first time that I am playing the game, but being forced to watch is ridiculous.

Mandatory tutorial modes are also something that I despise! The ideal is making tutorial modes that are skippable or only selectable in the menu, separate from the main game.

Retarded 1 IQ cutscenes with controls in them to delude you into thinking you are playing. Especially noticeable in games like GOW

Escort missions, and I am not a fan of stealth games anymore, and I have no patience to do that shit.

Honorable mentions being all the SJW themes shoved in lackluster video games nowadays.

Games that are hard just to be hard, games that are too easy then there's one part that is fucking hard and it make the rest of the game unplayable, games that either hold your hand too much or not at all, so you search for hours or need to view a gameplay video like a fucking retard because you couldn't figure it out on your own, online games, games that you control an entire fucking team of mongoloids, games that are too long with the same repetitive game-play, stealth parts and stealth games.

there is a balance in good games that offer both challenge and fun. Games that are just made very hard are trying to compensate for the lack of genuine content by preventing players from reaching it all to quickly

Microtransactions

All games that have SJW agenda in them, I hate them.

Walking for long distances to reach a point on the map.

Games that make important characters unkillable. The ideal is like in Morrowind where it just tells you you fucked up the game by killing them or letting them die and suggests you load an earlier save.

i dont like turret sections, fps games, meaningless fetch quests, having enemies who you cannot kill because of the plot or enemies who are scripted to beat you like the first boss in sekiro but it actually kinda works there

Re 4 did it right

Having to collect stuff.

The "wsad" mechanic. It's clanky and the character often doesn't go where I want it to go. I'd rather use point and click or some sort of automatic motion that would just be controlled by a general direction prompted by the player.

Also, having to navigate menus, sub menus and shit like I'm using an accounting software or something. It breaks immersion and it feels like work.

It's supposed to be a game FFS.

Disclaimer : I'm not a big gamer, far from it.

quicktime events are cancer

Another thing that I hate is when developers think that the idea of "challenging" is fill the screen with endless enemies

Which games do you play these days?

I hate to lose

System requirements because my cuckputer can't run shit

I'm quite chill when it comes to games tbh.

Apart from forced LGBTQ/feminism propaganda. Hate that.

Underwater parts

Most of the games I enjoy have me constantly switching between the game and a browser window to Google how to do something/how a certain mechanic works. This really burns my ass.

Dull moments, when it stops being fun.
Or technical difficulties like crashes, bugs & glitches.

The low health effect being too loud, frequent or intrusive to the point where i cant see 10% of the game

when you cant kill children

Fetch quests are worthless. Pointless semantics like in Paper Mario where you have to talk to Merlon right in front of him not across from his crystal ball in order to advance to the next level. It's just stupid and wastes time.

QTEs
localization ie censorship
invisible walls

I hate how women wear clothes. They should be naked or in a thong

Game's are going bad situation on this days. Thanks to SJW unit's they're want the game like their ideology (e.g: gay/lesbian main character,no offensive jokes, overpowered womans) I hope one day everything gonna be fixed.

The #1 most hated thing in video games for me is fetch quests and pointless side quests. You need me to what? Find exactly seven of these special herbs for a medicinal potion to help heal your sickly child? How is this going to help me save the realm exactly? What would you be doing right this instant if I hadn't shown up, hung around the tavern and gotten drunk like the useless NPC that you are? Kys and your stupid kid.

In the #2 spot is bad friendly AI that mostly shows its annoyance with quests that involve a fail condition on some character dying. It doesn't necessarily have to be an escort mission, but it commonly is. You go from relying on your skill the whole time to relying purely on luck. And sometimes you're helplessly relying on luck, especially if it's a higher difficulty and your AI friendlies die easier.

Coming in at #3 is unskippable cutscenes and tutorials. There is no excuse not to be able to do this. No, I don't care about the genius of your cinematic director or art team. Fast forward was invented with VHS. And yes, some of us are veteran gamers who can pick up the mechanics of your game as we go. It's not brain surgery, so fuck you for needlessly coddling all of us. If it's something that can't be reasonably discovered through play and experimentation, then offer useful hints, but otherwise sit back and let us play your game without holding our hand.

At #4 there's quick-time events (QTE) and obscenely long cutscenes. Cutscenes are there for plot exposition and to give yourself a bit of a gameplay break, which makes QTE a schizo game design. Either let your audience engage in your game in the moment by playing it, or give them a break and let them sit back and enjoy other aspects of your game like the story and art. And keep the cutscene brief, for fuck's sake. If I wanted to watch a movie, I wouldn't be playing a video game. Hideo Kojima is worst culprit for this. That dude desperately wants to be a Hollywood film director, and it really shows in his game design philosophy. Don't use your video game as an excuse to dump your movie on us. Just fucking go and make a movie.

Coming in last place at #5 is something external to video games, but it has inexorably creeped its way into video games nonetheless, and that is the woke, SJW faggotry. For exhibit A on this, look no further than Cyberpunk 2077. The wokeness was rooted in the company's decision-making, by focusing to hire a diverse team consisting of all genders, instead of a competent team consisting of just one (let's be real here). And by God, does it ever show how much of a disaster that can be. When you're more concerned with making sure that your character is able to look 100% female, but still able to possess a cock and balls, than you are of making a smooth running game free of game-breaking bugs, then there is something seriously wrong with you and your game development company.

Furthermore, this SJW cancer is affecting aesthetics and game design all over the industry. Female characters aren't allowed to look sexy and beautiful anymore, because beta faggot game companies are more concerned with appeasing feminist cunts like Anita Sarkesian than they are of appeasing their consumer base. You know, the people who actually buy your fucking games and increase your company's share value. Can you imagine if this cancer takes over Hollywood and suddenly all lead females are some combination of obese, ethnic (the correct ones), POC, with a weird imaginary gender that no one can pronounce? Oh, wait a minute, we don't have to imagine. :feelskek:

I'm a achievement whore so games with massive unfun collect-a-thons that need a 2 hour long video guide suck ass.
Also if a achievement is RNG based or you need to rely on the AI to get it, Paradox games are really fucking bad at this in particular. Like yea I really want to wait for the AI to go down the right path or a certain event to spawn and hope I get it.

Long intros also annoy me if they can't be skipped.

I don’t see any of the sjw stuff in the games I play. Maybe stop playing 70iq shooters?

cash grab companies that make terrible games
also feminist agenda

Can it be something I hate in the video game industry?
because if so: its the sentiment that companies can just keep raising the cost of games and making them worse and worse with every subsequent iteration, which doesn't make sense. The fact that companies will release at full price a still in pre-alpha build of their games and let the first few months be the test whether or not the devs want to continue their "work" or just shit out another wasteful turd of a game. Its a money-fleecing scam, modern gaming is. I really dislike all of it

Fucking smash dlc costing more than half the price of the base game and having a chunk of them being clones. With indies they have no real choice but to release the game as a finished product at least.

Foids. And liberal nonsense.

You can blame clever marketing campaigns for inflating consumer demand and perceived quality, while deflating product value. With that, you have legions of brain dead consumers who mindlessly buy the next Madden/CoD/Assassin's Creed title without noticing or caring that every future iteration of the franchises are fundamentally reskins of the previous iterations. And the majority does not give a shit about shady business practices like cut content that is later billed as DLC, or MTX, or any other example where the end user gets fucked.
