There's nothing worse than dropping a game near the end

It keeps happening to me.

I play until I almost finished it, then forget to play for a few days, then forget about the game for two weeks. After that, I’ve forgotten most of it, so I have to start over to finish, but I still remember enough that I feel like I'm just wasting my time. At the same time, I feel conflicted because I really want to finish it in a single playthrough.

This has happened with games like Nier: Automata, Persona 3 Reload, Cyberpunk, and a few others.

And, of course, I spoil myself on many things in the meantime, which leaves me with even less motivation to restart and finish them.
