Poor people in Africa actually have it better than Incels. Most of them would have girlfriends or wives due to their society being less hypergamous. Being poor wouldn't take a toll on your mental health because everyone around you is poor, nothing seems to be going wrong in your life, you feel normal and just like everyone else. However with an Incel you are always reminded of what you don't have, everyone around you is living a normal life but you are an outcast.
