So many years wasted. So much damage to our minds and body. We gain nothing and lost many things while rotting.
I've never actually stopped fully rotting since I've started in my teens. But there were alternating cycles of greater or lesser rotting, so I can safely say one thing: that feeling of looking back at your life, of evaluating your whole existence, of seeing that you're a failure by every metric, a disappointment to anyone that had any faith in you ever, a disappointment to your younger self, a traitor to your future self - it's one of the worst feelings of dread and existential pain you can ever feel. All you can do is return to rotting, or have a mental breakdown.
