Mario Kart Wii = best Mario Kart
Super Mario Galaxy = best Mario game
Backwards compatibility with GameCube
Virtual console access to some of the best Nintendo games ever, ie: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario Bros 3
Best third party support Nintendo ever received untill the 3ds era
Unique and fun gimmick
Wii sports

You also ofc had the DS with a ton of great games

Objectively, Nintendo's best console is the Snes, which perfected what the Nes had prepared.
The pixel art is just gorgeous, and the games have stood the test of time.

Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, A Link to the Past, F-Zero, Kirby Super Star, Super Metroid, the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, the Mega Man X trilogy, Final Fantasy IV & VI, whichever version of Street Fighter II you like the most, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 1 & 2, The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse, Contra III, Castlevania IV.

Super Mario World is worse than Mario 3.
Donkey Kong Country trilogy are good but nowhere near the best platformers ever.
MegaMan x1 is good. I agree.
Yoshi's island is ok
Ocarina of Time mogged a link to the past

Snes is good, but not amazing. Definitely the peak of 2d platformers. Wii is better because it has access to snes + N64 and GameCube.

SMW has tighter controls, more content, great 2d graphics, tons of added things like Yoshi, Cape , Ghost Houses, Spin Jump, tons of stuff. But I can't deny the monument that is Mario 3, and it helped establish an improved version that is Mario World.

ALttP is better for me
But that's just my point of view.
It managed to capture everything that OoT did, but on an even larger scale, and that was in 2D. It also has an extremely iconic story and soundtrack, and I simply find it more fun to play.

Smb3 has better level design, diversity and difficulty. SMW is too repetitive and easy.

Even famous indie games today are pale copies of games released on the Snes.

Stardew valley = Harvest Moon
Undertale = Earthbound
Shovel Knight = DuckTales

Etc.

Agreed. Shovel knight is extremely overated.

SMW has a way better difficulty curve, including multiple special worlds for players who want something a bit more difficult.

This is not the case for Mario 3 after the World 3

Yes it is. Mario Bros 3 slowly escalates in difficulty as the player skill improves. Mario World remains stagnant outside of castles which are sudden spikes. The special world does not compensate for this.

In the space of three levels, the game goes from easy to "controller out the window" :feelskek:
Mario Bros 3 isn't that hard outside of the last world. Anyways, by then you'll be ready. I find super Mario Bros 1 much harder.

The difficulty of Mario Bros 1 is artificial/unfair and lies in hammer Bros spam and mario's physics , you control him as if he were sliding on soap.

Super Mario Bros 3 never feels unfair because of how floaty and tight Mario is. The remake on SNES is stiff tho

Thing i like about Mario World is that you can jump higher and it's even more floattier

I used to play Wii sport and resort, Mario party 8, Mario sports mix and ashes cricket religiously good times

I prefer Super Nintendo.

Wii's control was awful, much rather have a regular joystick like all other consoles have

This. During the Wii era they started pandering to casuals hard. In a way it's Nintendo that is to blame for the massive influx of normalfags into the hobby.

It was GameBoy for me just because of Pokémon emerald

If Iwata was still around we would still have virtual console

Ah the last era of my life where I was actually happy, right before puberty I owned a limited edition Wii and would play with my sister's friends who came to the house.

Not so much nowadays, both Nintendo and the world has gone downhill.

I feel like it was probably the N64.

These days Nintendo games seem pretty throwaway.

Im still trying to platinum all of the Wii play minigame to this day
