fundamentally, no matter what planet you come from, you will need to KILL TO SURVIVE at least ONCE PER DAY. the purpose of survival is meaningless, the only reason you do it is for nothing but not to feel pain and pain exist for no reason but to condition you to feel bad and suffer and also hunt an animal to survive for one day

our whole existences are pointless, we are nothing but NPCs CONDITIONED to need food, love, water, etc, and we are slaves of it, constantly being forced to seek out it, without way of opting out of those needs unless you kill yourself. Science will never advance to the point we won't need either, and if we do, it will come with consequences.

and even if you cope with a ''decent'' modern life, it won't last forever, you'll eventually die, and you'll lose everything you got, and god knows if you are ever going to get to live again, this may be your ONLY life, and it was miserable either way, your only life was miserable and served no purpose but a pointless fight for survival.

well it may come with consequences and limitations. maybe those machines will produce lots of pollution, maybe that meat will be worse than average meat (and maybe it could be better than regular meat also), maybe it will have some chemicals into it that in long term could cause serious health issues, like for example plastic chemicals that have been proven to be responsible of shrinking male genitals.

the world is so rigged even if you make technological advancements to solve problems and improve your quality of life, it always come with harsh cost that could even lead to the collapse of the planet permanently.

Yes what futurists we are trying to do is eliminate or reduce bad things/suffering, and increase good things.

From 1900 to 2000 American crop production per acre rose by 12 times. Meaning we could grow the same amount of food on 1/12th the land. Soil erosion was also reduced by 90%.

The US population nearly tripled in the century, but the massive increase in output per acre meant we use less farmland today than in 1900. And we are massive food exporters and we also eat way more meat which requires much more crops per calorie to produce.

So now in addition to the continuing ~3% increase per year in crop yield per acre we are starting to deal with all the suffering and land area that making meat takes up. Like you said it could be 50 years, 100 years or more, it takes time and doesn't happen all at once. Just a gradual phase out of animal grown meat.

The long term goals;

-90% of the human foot print is farmland, so reducing that down and down so more lands for nature. This is why the plains and the Bison are returning. Is because land is becoming surplus as farm productivity rises

-food abundance for everybody - we did solve that now few are hungry
-healthier food for everybody - we got a long ways to go on that, in fact we might even be going backwards atm

-reducing pollution and soil erosion associated with farming
-reducing suffering of animals for food production, with laboratory grown meat mainly

-automating all farm work year by year so people don't have to labor at it if they want
-and this also is many people enjoy hobby farms and gardens so that is another aspect

I don't agree with this. First of all, who cares some lesser beings need to be sacrificed in order to feed the more intelligent beings? Plus at the rate technology is improving we are not gonna need to kill anything for food anyway, check out plant-based meat and similar stuff. You need to realize that we already fight WAY less than our ancestors for survival. A lot of people just get to live free without providing any material benefit to the society. The more technology progresses and the more things are automatized the less we need human labor to provide for human needs. Technology progresses exponentially. As long as we don't have to deal with messing up the planet on the way and other side effects technology shoukd be improving faster than ever, meaning in 1-2 generations our children won't have to do anything at all pretty much. It will take a bit longer till we are able to compromise our whole biology like things like needing love etc. but material needs are not eternal. Plus the universe is just a lot of void with nothing in it. It's only the planets with life that deserve any attention, the universe is just a neutral thing minding it's own business. I would say it's possible we find different reitirations of life on other planets so I wouldn't say anything about them yet. I am not gonna touch the meaning part but I think you are wrong about your predictions on the future and perspective on the universe.

the basis of your post is basically coping the future is going to be all rainbow sunny caricature and we will magically automatize everything while ignoring the endless pollution, need for LIMITED resources, over-population and other economical and enviborement consequences of technology.
