I related so much to the Whale. Instead of fatness, I'm ugly, but the point remains the same. At one point the pizza-guy saw him and cringed, he cried because he realized how much of a monster he is. That's how I feel because of my face.

I heard it's an Oscar bait movie about a faggot.

A brutal feeling. When you realize that your value with other people tends to 0, You have no choice but to assume that there is no better way than to make society burn to feel its heat.

Might see it, always looked too boring for me.

It does look boring as hell, but it was written/directed by Darren Aronofsky, who is a really good filmmaker. If you haven't seen his other movies I'd check them out first - Black Swan, The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream, Pi. Then maybe watch Noah, and Mother, and then the Fountain, and then if you really want to watch The Whale then maybe give it a try.

It's a great movie because of Brendan Fraser's performance, anything else about it is pretty mediocre.
Couldn't relate to it because morbid obesity is a choice while being ugly is not. Also he had a good life before his tragedy happened and he started binge eating.

Well you can't change your facial features
Everyone is born as a 15lb child. It's your decision to eat like an absolute pig and get to 250+ lbs

Id watch a movie about how an actual incel is treated like shit and instead most hollywood movies where the incel ends up getting the stacy anyway through his humor and wit (on top of that, the incel is really cast as a tall normie), the incel ropes.
that would draw attention to the male hopelessness problem.
it would start off with being a bluepilled guy
he would scroll through tinder and getting zero likes
then he starts caring more about his appearance, redpill stage
finally he gets blackpilled and ropes

based daughter ?
Yeah his daughter was pretty based and openly homophobic --- I was surprised how she was still treated sympathetically at the end. She also has next to no friends

That scene resonated with me. I'm not fat, but I'm very ugly, and whenever I'm reminded of my unattractiveness, I'll go into a nihilistic, roping ideation mental state (real life example: a coworker wanted to set me up with a friend of his girlfriend. he showed her a pic of me, and apparently she laughed when she saw my photo)

It was fucking painful for me to watch honestly. Everything was just so depressing which I know was the intention of the creators but the overall vibe of the whole movie was fucking miserable.

You can make a good depressing movie without turning it into a sad shit for the sake of only making sad shits.

Literally this. The movie exaggerates the misfortunes of the main character to such a degree that one could mistake it for satire. The first scene is the protagonist aggressively cranking his dick to gay porn and then going into cardiac arrest. JFL. The orchestral music at every corner of the protagonist's mundane life pisses me off too, clearly the movie thinks it's smarter than it actually is. Slap an A24 logo on anything and normies will worship it because it makes them feel smart.

You're dumb white trash who will never understand the movie.
