I once nearly roped with my bathrobe's belt.

I decided to end it but the moment I stepped on top of that chair my instincts kicked in.

I started sweating and couldn't do it.

All I had to do was kick the chair and then I'd be suffocating.

The thoughts of such event occuring forced me to continue living.

I wonder if I was drunk that day and did not care would I be alive today.

still takes a lot of courage if you're afraid of what happens after death for example the gun method is just as terrifying.

Similar thing happened to me not long ago

I tried to rope using a 9mm handgun. I went to the bathroom and sat in the shower for about 10 minutes in anguish.

I then mustered up the courage then tried to load a round into the chamber after finding a place on my head to shoot myself , only to realize I had failed to put the magazine into the gun correctly, which prevented the round from entering the chamber. I then unloaded the gun, put it away in my safe and decided to go out with my mom

Brutal, I too have tried hanging but i couldnt pass out so i took the noose off, Plan was to press this vein that makes me pass out then i would fall down and suffocate in my sleep, But i couldnt find the vein, I got lightheaded as i tried moving downwards sitting strangling myself, I wont name the vein but its needed to pass out.
