The UK always loses its mind over completely isolated cases and then wants to pass a new law while ignoring far more systemic issues. You can put men under general suspicion in public and nobody gives a damn, if you did this when a member of another group (be it a certain race/sexuality) committed a crime however you would lose your job within minutes.

That laws like this pass in some countries is part of the reason why some people now unironically think saying mean things about women online should be an arrestable offense. It now has precedent in some parts of the world.
They've already got a sectarianism law here. So it's already an offence to sing football related sectarian songs. This is a bigger step in the wrong direction as its so vague. Not even specific 'hate speech' can get you in the shit, just anything 'offensive' which is subjective. We're heading towards a fuckin grim sterile existence where you cannae say fuck all without the chance of offending some cunt.

It all originally started with laws against criticizing the holocaust but were extended to other offenses that people deemed just as severe if not more. They get their foot in the door with alleged concerns about "racism and antisemitism" but they are most fond of applying these laws against "misogynists".
