The Singularity was Earlier than I thought

I saw an interesting chart this morning

I was first disheartened by this chart, looking at the 90s section and thinking "I'm old, I was alive then, guess it really was me."
But no! I wasn't in fucking highschool in the 90s!

I was in the 2010s! Even the fucking teenagers had just the bottom drop out with hypergamy and antisocialization. I wasn't the only one even though my peers at the time acted like I was a loser, they were lying to save face. Come Valentine's they were sitting at home on their XboX just like I was.

Event horizon might have been a better term.

I mean that change in culture that results in all these sudden shifts in all the data. Looking at the left part of the chart in the early 90s it's pretty flat, and it's probably flat all the way going left unto times immemorial (at least until the point that highschool was invented, it's not like that's been around as long as people have).

I have no doubts that my dad would not have gotten as lucky as he did if he was growing up in this current epoch. I shouldn't feel so bad for myself. It was over before I was even part of the race.
