Watching the Maoists / left-wing liberals ( the Maoists and the left-wing liberals are one and the same, they are the new left ) cry over the collapse of this regime is priceless. Not only is Maduro a communist, but he has also done nothing useful. He has not built schools or hospitals, and he has literally driven tens of millions of discontented people out of the country, while controlling the rest through government aid, as there is no other way to survive.

While his governance is definitely degenerate, it's impressive he's managed to survive for 12 years in power.
He's managed to remain at the helm while having enormous unused oil reserves, subsaharan level poverty in a once relatively prosperous country, while leading a nominally socialist, China aligned movement in the Western hemisphere.

His skills with regards to patronage are far more impressive than even that of Milošević.

Doubt Maduro falls, an US intervention in Venezuela would be needed, and it would cause a war because the army is loyal to Maduro. I think Trump will make a deal with him.
