The average redditor has "Dunning Kruger Syndrome" a term of mine that I just coined to describe a toxic set of the beliefs that has it's recipients constantly overestimating themselves from general intelligence to in depth knowledge. This term is based on the "Dunning Kruger effect" which is believed to be the phenomenon where those with the most confidence in something are the most likely to be incompetent, often show with a graph like below.
Ironically however this is not what the Dunning Kruger effect actually shows, This is only what the midwits of reddit who suffer from this syndrome believe what the Dunning Kruger effect looks like, It actually looks like this.
This shows that the least competent have a higher gap between there perceived competence and their actual competence not that the least competent are more confident in themselves then that of the most competent. After all when you look at redditors you don't see people who think they are literal geniuses but that of a group of people who think they are more intelligent then most when they are not.
Redditors value their false sense of intelligence because it is literally the only thing that they "have". Without it they are bunch of losers whining on an internet forum about the people who really run the world (who are much smarter then they are), Quite curious how the average redditor is a socialist-like left winger who believes that they are living amongst a bunch of right wing retards yet they lack the ability to convince any these supposedly stupid people to vote in a way that they would like. The inability to accurately access their own intellectual ability is a major symptom of Dunning Kruger Syndrome.
Other symptoms include the inability to do any probably research on anything, The belief that anything that goes against their worldviews as something that is fake while believing anything that conforms to their worldviews as truth and the inability to understand what the actual believes of other people are. You could probably convince redditors that they geniuses with a fake study with a title that "proves" they are intelligent while the study it's self implies that they are actually retarded. These idiots already eat up bunk studies that "prove" their political views make them more intelligent when there are thousands of other studies with much credibility that prove there is absolutely little to no correlation between politic beliefs and general intelligence.
