The problem is season 4 was season before the finale. Season 5 will be the final season. And because of this, not a lot of things changed in season 4. The plot didn't advance much (until the last like 5 minutes jfl).

This is literally the same problem as season 2 of House of the Dragon. Nothing happened. They wasted half the season with the guy from Doctor Who and Morbius hallucinating in the swamp castle. There was no battle. The battle is supposed to happen next season.
