there are only two good reasonable scenarios really as far what happened.

The first one is that the submarine had a catastrophic failure right in the beginning. They lost communication after 90min so that could have been the moment that they were crushed under the immense pressure of the deep sea killing them instantly.

The second one is that the submarine malfunctioned or got its propellers stuck while exploring the titanic wreck.

If the second one is true, they either died an hour or two ago because of lack of oxygen, or they are about to die in about 1.5 to 2.5hours from now.

Imagine somewhere deep in the depths of the frigid atlantic ocean, 5 people spending their last hour talking to each other about their lives. In an hour or two the oxygen will run out and they will suffocate and pass out.
