I'm not sure what a sentient-cel is, but yes, I'm not NT.
We actually communicate extensively, but only when it's necessary. For the most part, we are autonomous until a situation presents itself where we must confer with each other. For example, if we aren't sure what to do about a certain poster/thread, or when one mod receives a complaint about their moderation, or when a mod receives complaints about other mods, etc.
Moderating based on the rules is the majority of what I do, and I've even defended people that I personally would want to see gone because I aim to be impartial. However, there are also situations which fall somewhat outside the scope of what we can define in a brief and easy-to-understand list of rules, and the closing of the "Make 1000 posts" thread was one that falls into that. This is part of the reason why when the OP PM'd me, I offered to talk to the other moderators about it as opposed to just referring them to the rules - but only after he heard my reasoning behind closing it.
Humor is subjective by definition, so while you might think that someone is humorless, they just might not find something humorous while others do. I don't think anything is universally funny, and many of the "funny" or "trolly" things on this site can rub someone else the wrong way. This is an unavoidable element of human nature and individuality, IMO.
