lets talk about old people. Except for Emba I dont think he is gonna have the problems I see with like literally 85 percent of old people. And that problem I like the call pridefullitus. Pridefullitus is a thing were old people get arrogant and think they know shit on subjects that they dont know fuck all about. A phone call 7 hours ago with my step grandma is what actually got me to start this thread. But old peoples brains like become a double edge sword. They have knowlege and brain power to a extent. But they also think there a professor in things they dont know shit about. First example in my non-step grandma.
Now the best example is one day half a year ago I was reparing a recepticle junction box for her freinds. I asked if her freind could go to home depot to find a mathing replacment for a junction box. Problem is she forgot the bring the old one. So she got a box way to big to replace the old one. My grandma instead of fucking listening to me asumed home depot didnt have the right size and try to go to other hardware stores just to fail at finding the proper replacment wasting her gas. And when I got her to take me to the home depotand proved I was right about her freinds error and grandma herself was wrong.... SHE GOT FUCKING PISSED AND THREATEND TO KICK ME OUT OF THE HOUSE. On the bright side after the job was done granny got me KFC. She was fucking pissed because I was right and she wouldnt listen. And this happens for other subjects. Now credit to my grandma she would let me make that choice problably in hope that I would be proven wrong. She wouldnt try to controll me or sneack in a different option I dont approve of. Also her getting mad is actually rare and deosnt act like my mom or sadly my step grandma.
Example 2. My grandpa who is not with my grandma. He is just on my dads side of the family wile both my grandmas come from moms side. Grandpa was a mechanic for volvo and I think he mostly specialized in alignment or suspension. Probalbly both. But he too cant get electrical right. He thinks that Amps is the pressure and voltage is the current. When there actually in reverse amp is the current and volts is the pressure. But when I tryed to correct him he swore he was right. He didnt get cranky but he had this slightly 1 percent angry tone with me after correcting him. Even treid showing what google said(google sided with me). But he didnt get cranky like my grandma or acted like a ass like my step grandma.
Other grandpa. Now this grandpa unlike the previous one is from my moms side of the family. And he is a hardcore NBC fanboy. He will chug up everything NBC says. And if I disagree with him how dare I. My grandma(non-step) also watches NBC and if I disagree with her she deosnt act apeshit. She instead gives her perspective and disagrees like a adult. Instead my grandpa crackhead(ill just call grandpa from moms side since he is apeshit) will act like no, he will literally act like left wing alex jones and scream how I dont need a AR15 and how my other grandpa is itching to kill (because how dare my dad side granpa owns "assualt weapons" and a suppressed pistol). Like grandpa crack head sure as shit earned that nick name. At this point Im willing to bet grandpa crackhead will problably die of a heart attack unless I do first(unrelated shit show of mine) and in a rampage.
Cherry on top. For for the story that made me want to make this thread. My step grandma. Ill call her grandma hitler because well, she is all pissed and sounds kinda judgy. I called grandma hitler 7 hours ago since well I couldnt make it to a late christmas dinner. And I told her about wanting to hop from electrical to plumbing (since IBEW plus other electrical companies are picky as shit) and hitler here went on a rant about how I need to know caculaous for residential electrical l... I tooken a electrical class as required for my HVAC course. You do not need caculous for electricall unless your doing fucking electrical enjineering or some hardcore ass electronics(didnt say it to her like or even mentioned it at all). And then when I made part of my rebuttal, she got pissed, basicly said I was a arrogant and rude person. How I need to act better during a job interveiw when she never saw me do a job interveiw. And told me I was being rude because I didnt take in the statments she was saying about me. She was yelling and talking like she wanted to throw hands. A 70 year old woman ready to fight her 26 year old step-grandson over being corrected. Keep in mind grandma hitler didnt do any electrical unless Im wrong. Ive done a decen small handfull of electrical work and hitler thinks she know more about EL02 then I fucking do. Told me not to contact them her or grandpa crackhead(those 2 are together as my main grandma divorced him before mom went through her whore phase) for a week.
Morral of the story. Getting old deosnt make you smarter. It also deosnt make you tougher when your in your boomer phase. Getting older means you abosrbed more information from yesterday. Yes there are old people who are smart. They just dont get apeshit over debates or disagreements. But it also proves another point. Theres gonna be people younger then you even teens who will be smarter then you and know more then you. And having the mindset of a narcisist isnt gonne do you any favors in the long term. Itll just make a ass out of your selfs. I dont always need to humble my self. But I also know when to sit the fuck down and learn. Getting angry deosnt make people think your smarter either. But dont think old people are as dumb as trees. Grandma (actuall one not step grandma) knows a lot more about money or real estate or cooking then I do. My more tame grandpa will problably be 4 terra AUs ahead of me in automotive. And grandpa crackhead will problably know things I dont in electrical. Everyone has there specialty in things in life.
