I watch a lot of crime documentaries, and it's particularly obvious in the outcomes of these, especially the legal outcomes.
I just recently watched one about the Plumstead Ripper (a fine chap who raped and killed women). The police initially framed the wrong guy, some poor incel, by having a female cop go undercover and develop a romantic relationship with him.
This went on for 5 months, during which she tried to coax details about his "violent fantasies" from him, and a confession to the murder. But got nothing.
On the basis of this, he was arrested and went to trial. He spent 13 months in jail, and one of the lead cops still maintained he was guilty, and the true killer wasn't apprehended for about another 13 years. Meaning his life was ruined. He sued and got about £1 million.
Now for amazing part. The female cop who had tormented him and got him falsely arrested SUED FOR COMPENSATION, claiming STRESS, and won. She got over £100k.

Police released a taped conversation between the police officer and him in which she claimed to enjoy hurting people, to which he mumbled, "Please explain, as I live a quiet life. If I have disappointed you, please don't dump me. Nothing like this has happened to me before". When she went on to say, "If only you had done the Wimbledon Common murder, if only you had killed her, it would be all right", he replied, "I'm terribly sorry, but I haven't".
