Serious The (potential) Endgame for Humanity

A few days ago, I had a conversation about the future of humanity. The actions of the elities and world governments were the main focus of the conversation. He talked about how with the advent of automation would eventually form the foundation of the new world order. He speculated that eventually AI would become advanced to the point where all jobs and tasks would not be needed in order to keep the system running.

This would of course displace much of the workforce and render the majority of the population obsolete. According to him, eventually the 1% (who by this point will have come from a long line of designer babies) will dispose of the remaining proles (whose numbers have sharply declined due to the world’s population crashing after it hits its peak within a few decades) and will use AI to provide for their every need. With virtually all humanity wiped out, the new humans will live their lives in never ending hedonistic ventures.
