I've always found the phrase "loved ones" as in "your loved ones" annoying. It implies that these "loved ones" are the ONLY people in the world you love, and everyone else can go screw themselves and die in a fire. I mean, I guess that's how people really feel, and sometimes they don't even really love their "loved ones," they just put up with them so they aren't lonely and alone in the world.
