Being good at video games is part of your genetics, like everything else. You cannot just spend thousands of hours in some game and become the best player. You also have your skill ceilling. You literally have to be god in reaction time, hand-eye coordination, having your brain be fluent in the chosen game mechanics, etc. There are tens of millions of kids playing lots of different games, and not even 1% of them will get to some meaningful tournament.
