Being sensible/ smooth/ slick works over sociopathy. Sociopathy is attacking the issue head-on and immediately silencing all sources of reprisal.
By cultivating empathy/ compassion/ grace... then you can do things slowly/ smoothly without the risk factor being likely/ monumental. Which is typically why people are not sociopaths. Their insecurity/ empathy prevents them from immediately silencing any source of reprisal.

Or bank robber or basically any crime even drug dealing now the police are armed better than ever before it might as well be the military showing up, and security in banks has gone through the roof and lowered the cash I remember when I was 11 it was the year 2005 even then bank robbers in Denmark got away with 83.000-170.000$ per robbery and if unlucky "only" 33.000$ Today bank robbers only get 3500-8000$ if the banks even has cash since Denmark soon will be a cashless society. But of course in 2005 security had gotten extremely good with time delays, security cameras etc. Yup up until the 80´s would´ve been perfect after that the security around everything starting to sky rocket.

There are also cameras everywhere so drug dealing would be harder than the 70´s or 80´s and the same for serial killing I mean there are cameras EVERYWHERE even in the woods put up by hunters on trees to catch wildlife and I can´t stress this enough cameras are literally EVERYWHERE on buildings in the city, private homes, forests, the roads also the technology today is so much better than in the past so people can´t get away with shit. If Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer serial killings has happened today I bet they wouldn´t have gotten away with it for so long because both their methods meant they would get out there clubbing or drinking for Jeffrey and Bundy around colleges so today there sure as hell would have been a camera on a building somewhere catching them walking or driving away.
