As Islamic terrorism dwindles as a result of weakening momentum and the failure of ISIS, incel mass murders rise and the trend will sadly continue. [I personally believe murder is wrong, but not every incel thinks like me.] Dylann Roof, Adam Lanza, Chris Harper-Mercer, Elliott Rodger... Minassian used a van because he was Canadian, but were he born in the US he would have used a gun, so I'll add him to the list.
The NRA talking points, that guns are just a tool and tools don't cause crime, and that society should focus on addressing root causes of violence, are valid. But they are condemned to lose the fight... Gun control is coming. The reason is that the true causes of gun violence are too taboo to discuss. The NRA admits the existence of a nebulous "mental illness", but this only gives ammunition, so to speak, to supporters of gun control. Because you often can't detect random mental illness in young men, precaution dictates that we outlaw firearms... Makes sense.
In reality, actual mental illness like psychotic schizophrenia is extremely rare... Mass murderers know perfectly what they're doing. And they're doing it to get revenge. But revenge on what? And how can we prevent this process from unfolding?
By admitting the gun control talking point that everything revolves around mental illness, and being unable to discuss the true causes of this "illness", the NRA has dug its grave. The Second Amendment will be ignored more and more, and one day deleted.
