It's an absolute banger. This song playing outside the school, dampened, while those meal tickets fall down and glitter in the moonlight as Angel approaches the MC has got to be one of the best scenes in anime and I don't even know why. The build up to it too, the disconnected nature of the band playing to a crowd inside while the SSS fights with Angel as the anime flashes between the two is just FUCKING SUPERB.I just listened to that yesterday kek
I agree. shame the anime itself suffered from shit pacing. It's an absolute banger. Key cooked with that shit. Easily top ten best anime moments of all time - unironically.

It's got a very distinct, compelling, and emotionally poignant premise. If I was feeling funny, I might even myopically argue that it does the whole theme of self-acceptance and 'moving on' better than Evangelion in some ways.Angel Beats is one of my favourite KEY productions
I'm afraid niggas aren't ready for that conversation. Especially not the Clannaggers.Even mogs some of their VNs ngl
Sonic Unleashed is the best Sonic game

Most of the visual novel “classics” that I’ve read really do deserve that title but Clannad was a bit underwhelming, only like 3 routes were good and I really don’t like KEY’s shoehorning of supernatural shit like ghost girls (that also appears in Kanon and Summer Pockets) that are completely unnecessary. It’s not a bad VN but it’s a tad bit overratedI'm afraid niggas aren't ready for that conversation. Especially not the Clannaggers.
I think it would’ve been better if it were one of my first tbhMost of the visual novel “classics” that I’ve read really do deserve that title but Clannad was a bit underwhelming, only like 3 routes were good and I really don’t like KEY’s shoehorning of supernatural shit like ghost girls (that also appears in Kanon and Summer Pockets) that are completely unnecessary. Yet to read Rewrite and Little Busters though
For me, I remember liking Sunohara, Tomoyo, Kyou (the lesser Tomoyo) and the MC a lot but the fulcrum upon Clannad rests on, i.e., your emotional connection to Nagisa was just not there for me. Which is why it - broadly speaking - subjectively fell flat. Moreover, some of the humor and gimmicks are just overwrought, along with the entire story. Most of the visual novel “classics” that I’ve read really do deserve that title but Clannad was a bit underwhelming, only like 3 routes were good
It can definitely get obnoxious.and I really don’t like KEY’s shoehorning of supernatural shit like ghost girls (that also appears in Kanon and Summer Pockets) that are completely unnecessary.
Sure. It’s not a bad VN but it’s a tad bit overrated

It all sucked!if only we had a critic for nostalgia.
I have some kind of predilection or mental blockage which causes me not to connect with these dopey, air-headed, and autistic womanchildren like I had a similar problem with Mayuri in Steins;Gate. When she died, I just didn't care, that is until I saw the effects it had on Okabe where it then retroactively caused me to appreciate her character more. Likewise this happened with Clannad; but unlike Clannad, Steins;Gate isn't one note and wholly reliant on one emotionally damaging hit-or-miss plot beat.based fellow Tomoyo enjoyer. If you want to see that character archetype done well, I recommend Swan Song. Though she's less "anime-y" tbh, and more symbolicI have some kind of predilection or mental blockage which causes me not to connect with these dopey, air-headed, and autistic womanchildren like I had a similar problem with Mayuri in Steins;Gate. I played the beginning of it however I was mentally cooked at the time and didn't want to be oppressed by more compounding layers of despair. But from what I remember, it was good and you're probably right. If you want to see that character archetype done well, I recommend Swan Song. Though she's less "anime-y" tbh, and more symbolic
