It's strange isn't it that often the idea is portrayed that the NEET lifestyle is pretty much perfect. Cosy and you can do what you want all the time.

What tends to happen yeah is the person can feel directionless and alone, despite the fact that they do have quite a lot of freedom.
The alone portion is probably mostly because of the lack of community and cohesion in modern society other than in workplaces. The lack of direction... I guess it's natural for humans to want goals. I play survival video games a lot and even on those when I don't have goals I get very bored.
Training/education is I think a good start because it can give you a productive, vocational direction. So like in my case I should train more in IT because I enjoy that and also it's a fairly in-demand skill.
